Tumpeng: The Cone of Mixtures

Southeast Asia, where the various lands within its boundaries house cultures that are unique to every location. Where spices are plentiful as such that others sought territory here during the first phase of European colonization.

 Today we will jump into Indonesia, a nation in Southeast Asia. The main focus being Tumpeng, a dish with the honor of being known as a national dish. It is a cone-shaped rice dish accompanied by side dishes consisting of meat and vegetables originating from Javanese cuisine. Where traditionally, it was prepared in slamatan ceremonies.
This dish is also known as a symbol of gratitude and is given to honored guests in Modern times.

For things that differ, may complement each other. This dish shows the epitome of such complementation. Try this dish out when the opportunity comes, for you will surely be delighted at its taste.

Ingredients:
* 1 Kg rice
* 500-900 ml of coconut milk
*1 piece of old coconut
*Shrimp
*4 tsp salt
* 5 pcs red onions
Note: Tumpeng can come in many variants. This being one of the known variants.
 Steps to prepare the dish:
1. Wash the rice thoroughly and soak in clean water.
2. Pour the ingredients into the coconut milk, and stir until it has blended.
3. Boil the coconut milk.
4. Remove the water soaking the rice, pour the coconut milk in.
5. Boil the rice in low heat.
6. Steam the rice until it is completely cooked.
7. Let the rice cool in room temperature.
Shape the rice as you wish, preferably with a cone-shaped mold.
